How to Love Your Feet for National I Love My Feet Day

Foot & Ankle Specialists, PC Posted on August 16, 2021 by monpodAugust 16, 2021

August 17th is National I Love My Feet Day, and now is the time we take a moment to appreciate our feet and all the wonderful things they do for us. Feet are easy to take for granted, but without them, we wouldn’t be able to walk, run, stand, or perform so many other activities. To show some appreciation, here are some easy ways you can show some love to your feet for National I Love My Feet Day:

• Buy new shoes. Make sure they fit right, provide adequate support, and have plenty of wiggle room for your toes.

• Lose some weight. Extra weight can put extra stress and pressure on your feet, which can lead to problems down the line.

• Avoid going barefoot. It’s easy to accidentally get a cut or scratch in sharp objects on the ground. Try to always use proper footwear when going outdoors, especially at the pool or beach where bacteria thrive and fungal infections can easily be picked up.

• Wash your feet daily with soap and water.

• Don’t share your shoes or socks. Unfortunately, sharing shoes or socks with another person is an easy way to contrast foot fungus or infection.

These are just a few ways you can say thanks to your feet for everything they do for you.

For more tips or if you’re having any problems with your feet, you can count on the foot doctors at Foot & Ankle Specialists, PC to provide fast relief for your feet using a full range of both conservative and surgical therapies. Our expert team, including board-certified podiatrists Dr. Scott E. Hughes, Dr. Greg P. Vogt, and Dr. Christine I. Tumele, serves patients of all ages with state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment technologies including onsite digital x-ray, ultrasound, diabetic shoes, and digital scanning for custom orthotics.
